Artist Profile

Alan Wear is a chainsaw sculptor based in North East England. He uses chainsaws to sculpt beautifully unique pieces of art from old trees and stumps. Giving fallen trees a whole new lease of life.

Alan started out working as an arborist, climbing and working on trees. It was through this career that Alan developed his love for trees and chainsaws. Being a keen woodworker it was only natural that the two skills would meet and lead him to sculpture.

With a great love for nature and the natural world, wildlife is one of Alans favourite things to carve, although there's nothing he won't 

carve and likes a challenge.
